Imoni Kai: Fran Ollweiler
Dear friends,
Thank you very much for sharing the information about your wonderful fall
harvest, and the festival of Imoni Kai. I printed it out for my husband to
read an enjoy also. We have a festival in the fall also called Thanksgiving.
Someone in the family makes a roasted Turkey with many potatoes and fresh
vegetables, and lots of pies and cakes for dessert, and invites the whole
family to dinner.
When our son Ken was a young man living in the away from
his family and working he met many young men and women who had the same
problem that he did, and he and they did not want to spend the holiday
alone. So....he had the first Orphan's Thanksgiving. He invited all the
young people he knew who were not near their families to join with him, and
prepare the food for the holiday, and share it together. Of course none of
them were orphans, but he hasn't changed the name, and has continued to that
this every year.
Kazumi....I share with you the same prayer that by getting to know one
another we can act more peacefully toward one another.
Speak to you soon.....Love, Fran
