Kokeshi Dolls:Jean Lockwood

Kazumi, I finally got smart. I realized that I could do a search on the internet and could probably find pictures of those dolls. So I did, and you are right, they are utterly charming.

I saw two types--one had a realistic head, on a tall slender base; t the other type was shorter, and more closely resembled a standard doll. The ones I saw pictures of were beautiful. I am not surprised that you enjoy your collection.

You know, when I lived in California we also had earthquakes. I had some lovely Royal Doulton figurines that I was afraid would get broken, so I found some double-stick stuff (it was about 1/4" thick, and sticky on both sides). I cut small strips of that and put the tape on the shelf, and the figurines on the tape. Nothing ever got broken.
