Photos of Kokeshi Doll:Yoko Yamasaki
Hi Jean and every one, this is Yoko.
Let me introduce the web site which provides several photos
of the Kokeshi doll, which Jean has a special interest in.
This web site has a top page consisting of 8 small photos
of different Kokeshi and short Japanese descriptions
( most likely funny letters and/or symbols for U.S. penpals).
By clicking each photo on the top page, you can get its
bigger-scaled and detail photos with only one or two
displeased symbols appeared.
You can enjoy old but valuable Kokeshi dolls from various
view points of shape, painted pattern, color, etc.
The URL of the web site (top page) is :

Jean, I learned your job was related to the computer.
I suppose it was a high grade job to write the manuals /
guidebooks on the computer hardwares and softwares.
At that time, the number of technical writers must have been
limitted due to the state-of-the-art technology.
And, I am also encouraged by the fact you started to work
from the age of late fifties.
The progress of computer development in the past 4-5 years
seems to be acccelerated just like a dog year.(a dog reportedly
gets old four times quicker than a human.)
Not only from technical stand point, but from economical stand
point, we cannot catch up the speed of computer development.
I understand the "Digital Divide" must be avoided between users
and non-users of computer, but I wonder if another economical
divide could come out among people who can use computers.
I have used old secondhand computers without inconvenience
for a long time.
But, I bought a new computer in this spring since my old computer
couldn't cope with the present Internet environment.
I hope this new computer could be useable for more than 5 years.
Look forward to hearing from all of you soon, Yoko.
