more news from Minnesota : Bernie Brown

Hello friends across the world.
I don't know if we have a problem with digial divide here or not.
There are many, many seniors getting computers so they can communicate with their children and grandchildren more often. I have several grand-nieces and nephews that are three years old that know how to work the computers and play their games.
We do have some counties within the state of Minnesota that are perhaps not as fortunate to have as much money to spend on education than other areas and therefore they probably don't have as many computers available for the students. Some of our farm areas are not as wealthy as others. Some of these areas have small towns and not much industry so their incomes aren't like that of a large city.
Minnesota has had a very different summer than we usually have. This summer we have had some hot days and some very cool days. Some areas have had too much rain and others not enough. Here in Minneapolis where I live we have had the average amount or just a little bit above the normal. I like this kind of weather when it isn't too hot.
Minneapolis is a large city and just across the Mississippi River from St Paul so that is why it is called the Twin Cities. There are many other cities just next to Minneapolis and St Paul and they all seem connected. It is like Tokyo where one city limits ends another begins.
There are many lakes within the city also where there are walking and biking paths and parks for people to enjoy.
You asked about the men and if they are kind and considerate. Some are and some are not. But I think I want to believe that they are kind. I think young married family men are getting to be more kind and considerate because they help to care for the children and the household chores because both the husband and wife work so they share the home work. That didn't happen very much years ago when I was growing up.
Then most men worked and women stayed home and took care of the children and the house. Now young men can cook, clean, shop for groceries and care for the children. That is the way it should be and perhaps it will help to make a better world.
I am enjoying this exchange of ideas, feelings and customs very much and hope we can continue for a long time.
Sincerely,
Bernie Brown
