Introduction : Jean Lockwood
First of all, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jean Lockwood, and I
am a 74-year old lady living in Fredericksburg Virginia where several battles
of the American Civil War were fought. Before I retired 3 years ago, I was a
technical writer writing software manuals for computer hardware and software.
I had my own business and enjoyed it a lot.
In 1977, just after my husband died, I took a trip to the Far East and spent
a few days in Tokyo at the New Otani Hotel. I had an English-speaking guide
who showed me the things I particularly wanted to see rather than the
touristy events the tour included.
She introduced me to sushi and taught me
to use chopsticks (not very expertly, I know), and took me to the Kabuki
Theater. We toured some of the department stores and the art exhibits in the
stores. I have never become very daring in my choice of sushi, but I do enjoy
the ones I like.
I am very fond of classical music (my late husband was a pianist), and I do a
lot of reading and watching TV. I bought my first PC in 1984 and was very
proud of myself when I managed to bring it home and get it all put together
by myself. When I pushed the 'ON' button, and it worked, I felt like God.
I used to buy and try all the new types of software, but since I retired I find
I can no longer afford to do that so I'm using what I had when I dissolved my
business; mostly, WordPerfect and Netscape for the internet.
I think that's about enough about me; not it's your turn.
Sincerely,
