Self Introduction : Reiji Imaizumi

Hi everyone, this is Imaizumi.
My previous message was "Air trip" (#0005). Today, I like to introduce myself.
I was born in 1927 at Nihonmatsu town, a small and quiet town. It is located in the south 100km of Sendai and in the north 250km of Tokyo, in close vicinity to Mt Adatara and the Abukuma River.
I retired eight years ago, and now I live free and easy everyday. 31years ago, I had been appointed to go to the Westinghouse company (an electronics manufacturer) as a business trip.
However, 1 month prior to my departure, I was hospitaliized due to a severe car accident, and the trip was cancelled accordingly.
It was the year 1946 when I first contacted with American people. 3 American officers visited my house at Nihonmatsu. One of them was a member of the music band, and wanted to see my father who had a guitar made in Spain.
Our family favorably got impressed by his elegant and gentle attitude, unlike to genaral soldiers. We were totally fascinated by his singing voice and his action of playing a guitar..
Since that day, he visited my family several times with bringing such gifts as chocolates and cigarettes (Lucky Strikes). At that time, it was almost impossible for Japanese to get those things.
So, it seems natural for my family to have a good feeling with American people. I will continue my self introduction next time.
Bye now.
